Thomas Murphy Wins Amateur MMA Debut; 22-Second TKO at Resorts Casino Hotel, Atlantic City



- Murphy Teams up with Caffeine Culture -

New York, NY -- March 11, 2009 – Amateur MMA fighter, Thomas Murphy won in a 22-second TKO against Joe Del Viscio on Saturday, March 7th at the Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Caffeine Culture, a contemporary young men’s apparel line was the sponsor for Murphy’s amateur fight debut. The event was organized by New Breed Fighters.

Joseph Ballé, designer for Caffeine Culture, is a third-degree black belt in Jujutsu and maintains fitness and spiritual regimens that include Thai boxing and various other forms of Jujutsu.

“We congratulate Tommy on his first amateur win with a fast, 22-second TKO,” said Joseph BallĂ©, designer of Caffeine Culture. “We look forward to the continued support of Tommy and his role within the MMA sport.”

In addition to Murphy, the New Breed Fighters card included 19 other bouts scheduled for three, three-minute rounds. Fighters squared off inside a 24-foot caged hexagon that was built inside the Superstar arena of the Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. The fighters used a variety of techniques including jujitsu, boxing, wrestling and kickboxing.

SMP Announces MMA Worldwide TV Show To Begin Airing May 15th, on HDNET

Orange County, California, March. 9th, 2009—SMP, Inc., announced today that production has begun on eight episodes of the second season of the TV show “MMA Worldwide”. The first season of MMA Worldwide aired on KDOC-TV in Los Angeles. The second season will be featured on HDNET cable TV (http://www.hd.net/) in cable markets throughout North America including Time Warner, DirectTV, Dish Network, Comcast, Bell Express Vu and many others and will feature a completely redesigned format. The show is being co written by MMA Worldwide / TapouT Magazine President Bobby Pittman Jr. and Owned Entertainment President James Hergott. The first episode will be a special tribute to recently deceased martial arts legend Helio Gracie and will feature an in depth look at his life and impact on martial arts as the founder of Gracie Jiu Jitsu. The episodes will be filmed and edited by Jim Manalisay of Ascension Digital Films (www.ascensiondigital.com) with Rick Lee working under him and directed by James Hergott.

The MMA Worldwide TV show, much like it’s magazine will do in depth stories on Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) past, present and future and will take viewers behind the scenes of the fastest growing sport in the world. Reoccurring Cast for the show will include MMA Worldwide staff RJ Clifford, Fred George, King Of The Cage Welterweight Champion Mike “Joker” Guymon and Bobby Pittman. The show will feature many of the top fighters in the sport as well as take you to the top MMA gyms and events throughout the country. Possible filming locations include So Cal, San Jose, Toronto, Vegas and Oregon.

MMA Worldwide will begin airing Fridays, starting May 15th, 2009 as a one-hour show. Sponsors for the show include FIGHT IT OUT and Muscle Pharm, Inc (http://www.musclepharm.com/).
