GSP's “The Striking Truth” Red Carpet Movie Premier in Las Vegas Announced!

Owned Entertainment Inc. announced today the UFC Champion Georges St-Pierre (GSP) and David “The Crow” Loiseau highly acclaimed feature film documentary “The Striking Truth” (strikingtruth.com) will premier for the first time in Las Vegas. The premier will take place at the Rave Motion Pictures’ Town Square 18 Theater (ravemotionpictures.com) starting at 6pm Dec 2, 2010, the night after the Fighter’s Only MMA Awards. TapouT Films and the #1 Sports Nutrition E-Retailer, Bodybuilding.com are sponsoring the premier. Bodybuilding.com will also be launching an exclusive site, sponsored by Cellucor, featuring exclusive clips from the film as well as workouts from GSP at www.bodybuilding.com/striking truth. The site will be available November 22.

The Red Carpet premier and VIP after party is by invitation only. “The Striking Truth” is the exclusive documentary for charismatic Ultimate Fighting Champion Georges St-Pierre and dynamic MMA fighter David ‘The Crow’ Loiseau. The movie follows the two fighters over the past four years, starting with UFC 58 USA vs. Canada where Loiseau was fighting for the championship against Rich Franklin and St-Pierre was the co-main event against BJ Penn. The film juxtaposes their two careers with St-Pierre’s meteoric rise to UFC champion and Loiseau facing personal challenges, charting their respective ups and downs as they follow their paths. The Project is directed and produced by Steven J. Wong, executive produced and written by James Hergott, and action directed by Bobby Razak.

Blood-feuding headliner for ‘Snow Brawl’ MMA show

Lauson-Trites headline Dec. 2 at Twin River Event Center in RI

LINCOLN, R.I. (Nov. 10, 2010) – There’s bad blood brewing between the Dec. 2^nd main event fighters, Dan “The Upgrade” Lauzon (13-4-0) and Damien “The Omen” Trites (5-3-0), on the “Snow Brawl” professional Mixed Martial Arts show, presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s CES MMA at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, R.I.

Trites claims the 22-year-old Lauzon, fighting out or Reality Self Defense, has disrespected him. Lauzon, the youngest UFC fighter ever, is the younger brother of UFC lightweight contender Joe Lauzon (18-5-0), who fights George Sotorupoulos on UFC 123 (Nov. 20 at Auburn Hills, Mich.).

“It’s a big fight because we don’t like each other,” Trites, representing Wai Kru in Boston, said. “There’s a lot of hating between us. This has been going on for six months to a year. This is going to be one of the biggest MMA fights in New England history. We’re going to sell out the place. I really hate him. At one point we were supposed to meet up in a parking lot to fight

“I respect him as a talent, no doubt about it, and I know I have to fight hard. He has a lot more experience than me and he’s had three UFC fights. But I don’t respect him as a person. He thinks he’s a gangster but he lives in East Bridgewater with his parents. I’ve been on my own since I was 16. He’s clueless.”

The feud started, according to Trites, when he went to train one night at Reality Self Defense, owned by Joe Lauzon, with his best friend, UFC fighter Josh “Doomsday” Howard. Trites trained with Joe Lauzon without incident but, as Trites explained, Dan Lauzon basically tried to hurt him.

“Joe was a true gentleman,” Trites remembered. “I like and respect Joe. We’d probably be friends if it wasn’t for his brother, who is the complete opposite of Joe. Dan tried to knock me out but I held my ground. Afterwards, I said I wouldn’t go back to their gym because you don’t train with somebody who is trying to knock you out. It would be like him coming to our gym and somebody there trying to knock him out.”

Trites said that after the initial incident he and Lauzon joked around when they met, but, deep down, they didn’t like each other from the start. Their animosity towards each other climaxed when Trites pulled out of a fight with Lauzon’s teammate, Joe Proctor.

“I had an ankle injury,” Damien added. “I pulled out of that fight but went to an Ultimate Fighter tryout. My injury was risky enough to stop me from fighting Proctor. He had only four fights, but I wasn’t going to pass up the Ultimate Fighter tryout. Lauzon went on my Facebook page, which is really for my friends and family – my mother goes on there a lot – and posted a message that I tried out for Ultimate Fighter and ducked his teammate. He said I was scared and that’s what really started it for us. You don’t go on somebody’s page and show disrespect. I’m not afraid of him or his friend and things escalated from there.

“We’re losing the mixed martial arts spirit -- a lot of guys aren’t humble. Hey, he blew his UFC chance three times. He doesn’t respect me and he’s nothing but a bully. I’m going to stand right in front of him and go at it. If he thinks I’m afraid to fight him, he’ll find out December 2^nd.”

Popular Providence lightweight Mike “The Beast” Campbell (8-3-0) plans to get back on the winning track against Detroit invader Tony “Lion Heart” Hervey (12-8-0) in the co-main event.

Rhode Island MMA pioneer Mat Santos (2-6-0), of East Greenwich, will be seeking revenge against BJJ specialist Everilton “Sonca” Silva (3-3-0), of Marlborough, MA), winner of a two-round, split decision against Santos four years ago.

Also fighting on the undercard are Connecticut featherweight Jason Bennett (4-3-0) versus Tateki Matsuda (4-3-0), out of Boston by way of Tokyo, and Brockton (MA) lightweight Lionel Young (4-4-0) taking on Luiz Rodriguez (3-0-0) of Somerville (MA). Pawtucket welterweight Rigo Dominicci (4-10-0) is scheduled to fight on the card against an opponent to be determined.

All bouts feature three, five-minute rounds. Undercard fights will soon be announced. All fights and fighters are subject to change.

UFC 120: BISPING vs. AKIYAMA event is taking place Saturday, October 16. live from the O2 Arena in London, England airing free on Spike TV.

The UFC 120 media conference gave Penny Buffington executive producer of MMA2DAY and other members of the media insight to the thoughts of the main event and co main event fighters from this event.

In attendance: the 2 middleweight fighters from the main event, Michael Bisbing vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama and the co main event, welterweights Carlos Condit vs. Dan Hardy.

Despite the fact Michael Bisping was voted "Coolest Man in the UK" by readers of Zoo magazine and numerous articles describing him as hugely popular in the UK he humbly describes his life in England.

He said “I live in a small town in the northwest of England, and I live with the same, you know, the same friends and family that I’ve grown up with my entire life. So, to be honest, nothing’s changed. You know, when I do venture out into cities and whatnot, yes, people do know who I am, I suppose. But, ultimately, I’m the same guy. I still live in the same place, the same small town, so not a lot’s changed. And because I still live there I’m able to train and just continue with my regular lifestyle.”

Michael "The Count" Bisping, 19 - 3 – 0, trains at The Wolfslair MMA Academy in Widnes, United Kingdom.

Yoshihiro "Sexyama" Akiyama, 13 - 2 – 0, is training out of Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Akiyama revealed he feels like he has a better takedown than Michael Bisping does.

Through his interrupter he elaborated that the confidence comes from training at Jackson’s, “He was able to learn the intricate skills of the takedowns, as well as better striking for MMA. And, most of all, he was able to learn how to deliver a good three rounds of fight in the cage.”

Bisping was apparently unimpressed, “In terms of preparation, it doesn’t change anything. With respect, I couldn’t care less who he trains with. He can train with anyone. What I’m focusing on these days is what I do, focusing on my training. And he can worry about what I’m bringing to the table. And so, you know, as I said, my training’s going fantastic. I feel in great shape. I’ve improved all my areas.”

Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy, 23 - 7 – 0, is associated with Team Rough Houselocated in Sneinton, Nottingham. He is currently ranked by Sherdog as the #4 welterweight fighter in the world. Hardy says of his opponent, “I’m looking forward to taking him down and choking him out.”

Carlos "Natural Born Killer" Condit, 25 - 5 - 0, also trains at the popular camp of Greg Jackson: Jackson's Mixed Martial Arts. Condit is the one who requested a fight with Hardy. His reasoning: “Well, for one, Hardy’s got status in the UFC right now. He was the number one contender. So a win over him would, you know, probably catapult me up the rankings.”

Sometimes the most revealing things are said after the conference is over. As the operator announced to President of the UFC UK division all questions had been asked by the media Dan and Carlos had a little more to add:

Dan Hardy: “Get on the plane, Carlos. Get on that plane, man. Look forward to it.”

Carlos Condit: “Do it.”

Dan Hardy: “So I can knock you out.”
