The fast growing MMA organization known as Strikeforce is coming to NBC. News of the deal was announced today by mmajunkie.com. Presumably the show will run on Saturday nights once a week. This deal will mean that the Strikeforce showings will probably beat EliteXC to the punch as the shows are said to be scheduled starting sometime this April.
The Strikeforce deal could be an even bigger blow to UFC's president Dana White who failed to reach an agreement with NBC. According to mmajunkie.com, executives at NBC weren't exactly thrilled with the idea of working with Dana.
Although Strikeforce is California based, it has already attracted international attention and is considered have better MMA talent than the EliteXC organization. The NBC deal will undoubtedly help foster the growth of Strikeforce in the near future.

Strikeforce will likely just show highlights like "Inside the UFC" and not show full fight cards like most people think.
Because of that, its success on NBC will be considered mediocre at best.
The UFC didnt close the deal with network TV or HBO because they both (CBS and HBO) wanted to use their own broadcast team and that seemed to be the deal breaker for Dana. They need the UFC more then the UFC needs them.
Besides, as far as the HBO deal goes, why would you let Jim Lampley do the broadcast? They guy has been one of the most out-spoken boxing ball lickers in the history of MMA haters. He is in great denial about the sport of MMA and is one of those "human cock-fighting....no rules, MMA should be illegal" assholes. He can eat a fat sweaty donkey cock.
I call it like I see it.
