Beating a dead horse (Fedor Emelianenko vs. Randy Couture)

Is it hype or legal angling that is keeping the rumor alive? Are we really going to see Randy Couture and Fedor Emelianenko, two esteemed heroes of MMA, go at it? According to the LA Times, Billionaire Mark Cuban's organization "HDNet has sued the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship". Evidently Mark wants Dana White to give him and the fans an expiration date on Randy's contract. The lawsuit is intended to free up Couture to that the battle royal of MMA can become a reality.

Besides the expiration date of Randy's contract, there is another issue, "Dana White says the contract doesn't just have nine more months on it, it also has two more fights on it." It's too bad that we can't watch the court battle on SpikeTV, because both sides are looking for the KO.

And just how much gas does Couture have in the tank at age 44? After all, he will most likely be 45 before he fights Fedor. I guess that remains to be seen. If Couture can come back looking like he did against Tim Silvia, the question will be definitively answered.

Cuban is suing Zuffa essentially for not letting Randy out of his contract. I am no lawyer but I do know that a contract is a contract and Cuban is a dipshit. Not just any dipshit, but a certifiable short bus riding low voltage drooler.

This is clearly an attempt by Cuban to gain notoriety in the increasingly growing, watered down industry that is MMA.

As far as Randy goes, its a shame he got mixed up with that Hollywood agent that is the source of all this Randy vs Zuffa drama, because I much like most of Randy's fans am loosing respect for the guy.

Everything he said the UFC did or didnt do for him has all been proven wrong and it was a bad move to make it public.

Hey Randy, that contract was great when you asked for it and signed on the dotted line. They gave you all you asked for and didnt even try to negotiate lesser terms......why was it good then but now its "disrespectful" and you arent being paid as you feel you should be???

A-hole.

...and P.S.
Fedor is WAS the best. What the hell has he done since his decision win over Crocop in 2005??

5 fights since? Come on!!!
He beat Lindland who has fought his entire career at middleweight, a very over the hill Coleman that had no business fighting Fedor, a win over a no namer in December of '05 and a win over a 7 foot Korean with no experience and very little training that was 1-0.

Way to solidify yourself at #1 Fedor....maybe you could start fighting amputees and paraplegics to keep the winning streak alive.

I hope he gets hit by a car.
